In a matrimonial action in which the parties were divorced by judgment entered May 4, 1977, the defendant husband appeals from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Rockland County (Edelstein, J.), dated May 19, 1986, which, after a hearing, awarded the plaintiff, his former wife, $8,500 in arrears in alimony and $3,500 counsel fees.
