The provisions of the statutory school code, applicable to the cases at bar, are mandatory, Knights of the Iron Horse v. Cityof Detroit, 300 Mich. 467, and the activities of the Federal Works Progress Administration in the premises were subject thereto in every particular. The plaintiffs cannot recover under the contracts made in violation of the provisions of the school code and the judgments in the circuit court should be reversed. *Page 537
